Change Team:
Majors Evaluations
by posted 09/19/2021

Dear Rays Parents,

The league is holding its annual Majors evaluations on Saturday October 23rd at Richardson between 1 and 4.  The evaluation lasts 20 minutes and parents will have the opportunity to pick a time slot one they've registered.

The league is indicating that all Little League age 10, 11, and 12 year olds who were not a member of a Spring 2021 Majors team should attend this evaluation session. This includes all the 9 year olds on the team as their Little League Age is technically 10.

As a Coach and Parent of a 5th grader who played AAA last Spring (as a 10 year old and 4th grader), I would suggest that the Spring AAA was a great experience, and there should be little expectation for 4th graders to move up to Majors this year.  However, the tryout (they call them Evaluations) is a good experience for next year so that they will know what to expect when they may be ready to move up to the next level.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions.

See you on Tuesday!

Go Rays!

Alex

Tonight's Lights Problem
by posted 09/17/2021

Dear Rays Parents,

I'm sorry that our game was cut short tonight - especially after such a great start in the field and at the plate.  I was trying to reach the NSELL Authorities during the confusion after the game but was clearly unsuccessful, and did not get a chance to "rally the troops" and give everyone the kudos they deserved.  If you would please pass along my encouragement regarding tonight's strong play I would appreciate it.

We will find a time to reschedule the game and add it to the calendar with plenty of notice, but in the meantime, I look forward to Sunday morning's practice for those that can attend.

All the best,

Alex, Jeff, John, and Scott

Today's (sat 9/11) Timing
by posted 09/11/2021

Dear Rays,

We look forward to seeing everyone who can make it today at 3:45 pm. We will hand out uniforms and do a short practice before we start the scrimmage with the NSELL Giants at 4:30 pm. For those who can't be there today, we will have uniforms available before the game tomorrow. FYI for this fall season, the boys will receive hats and jerseys. We will NOT be giving out pants, socks, or belts this season so please have your boys come to the scrimmage today and/or first game tomorrow dressed to play.

In general, please arrive at least 45 min prior to the start of each game to allow time to warm-up. That extra time makes a big difference for these younger ages. Please reach out to me or other parents if your child needs a ride in order to arrive early. Of course, we understand that early arrival may not be possible for every game.

There are many games and practices in a short time frame this fall. If you haven't already, you can download the calendar from the NSELL site and/or download the "Sports Sign-up Play" app to see everything in one place. In addition, we will be using the Game Changer app which will give live stats during games (and allows us to keep track of pitch counts, etc).

Looking forward to a great season,

Rays Coaches

Alex, Jeff, John, and Scott
