The Charles Z. Zisi Memorial cup honors the memory of Charles Zisi, who loved baseball but couldn't play b/c of spina bifida. Despite this, Charles was a fixture a Jay Gordon helping in anyway he could. This award is given to a Majors player who demonstrates great sportsmanship, leadership and models honoring the game of baseball.
Nominations are made by coaches and the winner is selected by the NSELL commissioners.
This year the league selected Harrison Hames as the 2025 NSELL Zisi Cup Winner! Here is what his coach wrote to the league when nominating him.
"The smallest kid on the team but he certainly punches high above his weight. He is the most coachable kid. He is always listening, always trying his best, and is a great teammate. He has a younger brother who is doing rookie T-ball and he goes to his events and plays with his younger brother and helps out the coaches. Unfortunately, NSELL will lose Harrison next year as he is moving to Omaha. But I was glad to have a chance to coach such a great kid."
